It is Friday, two days since me, Dave, and Seth got together to hang out. I watched a Tom Green movie this morning and I’m going to Dave’s after work to watch a movie him and his buddy Shane made called the Long Road. I’m a big fan of their movies. I’m wore out, it’s been a big week. Yesterday, I left work early and took a nap at about 4 PM. I woke up at about 5:30 and went Cheddar’s and got the fried Buffalo Chicken Wrappers which was really good; I went there with all the Blue Shell guys and we had a good time. Our guitar player’s sister came in for the week and she wanted to see us, she’s really smart and is able to code in C++ and a bunch of other computer languages. One time Blue Shell went to her city and we had a really good time - that’s when I drank a little Kulahua and talked to my buddy Bea, who I had a major crush on at the time. Anyway, tomorrow I have a show that I’m excited for, me and Dawn are going and a couple of my buddies alongside me are going to play some songs.
On Tuesday - Me, Dave, and Seth got together to listen to all the TJ tracks and mix them and add anything that needed to be added. Pretty much all of the tracks were finished, there was just one we needed to really mix and add some sort of sound too. Me and Dave were both thinking of like a mellotron type thing so we tried a midi controller but we didn’t really find a sound we were 100% set on. Seth’s Studio has a big organ, like Johanne Sebastian Bach kind of organ and we used it for one of the songs on Telepathic Judas. Here is a picture of me recording while Seth played the Great Big Organ:
When we finished that organ part it was getting a little late however, we had time to mix the rest of the album. Once we finished that we listened to a musician I will refer to as Petri dish. This music was unreleased and I don’t know if Petri dish would want me to list him, but he makes great music. It has a lot of black metal tones and guitar work in it but it’s still catchy but also has like an indie quality to it. From here I drove Dave home, it was fun, we talked about movies - Specifically I recommended Haneke’s Amour and mentioned that I think he’d like the idea of Lars Von Triers Dogville besides the disturbing scenes. We listened to the new song and it was really good. I helped Dave unload his bike and I drove home while FaceTiming Dawn. Here is a picture of when me, Dave, and Seth were listening to Petri Dish:
It is now 10PM, I am cuddling with my dog. Me and Dave hung out for about 6 hours, which was nice. Me and him watched his first movie, Long Road - which was pretty good. From there we went on 7 mile bike ride, that was a lot of fun. He asked some questions about the next EP which he seemed excited about, which made me real happy - I’m excited to write those songs. From there we went to Rio Grande, and had a Pizzabarrio which was amazing. From there we went back to his house and we talked about movies and I borrowed a book from Dave. I think I will start reading it now.
